Q: WiFi Calling - AT&T 6S Plus - No INCOMING calls

WiFi Calling is failing on incoming calls. Looking to see if anyone is experiencing same.

  • *New 6S Plus
  • *9.1
  • *Tested on corporate and home WiFi
  • *Tests conducted with Airplane mode on, WiFi on to restrict to WiFi only AND with normal modes on, but weak signal that connects to WiFi calling
  • *Outgoing calls complete
  • *Incoming calls show momentarily on the phone, then fail. Phone shows missed call. Caller hears nothing and no VM. As such, must keep WiFi calling off as  missed several international calls the other day before I discovered the problem.
  • *Network settings reset multiple times
  • *Phone completely restored once
  • *Chatted with Apple for over 75 minutes troubleshooting. No resolution.
  • *Chatted with AT&T for 45 minutes. Various combinations of restarting, on/off or WiFi calling, etc. No resolution.
  • *Works perfectly on wife's year-old 6, running 9.1, same WiFi router.

Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi Dan,

I'm having a similar issue. When a wifi call comes in the phone starts to ring then goes back to the lock screen/home screen, then a moment later rings again then home screen then rings again. It lasts for a few seconds and I can never answer the call.

It is an iOS 9.1 issue for sure. I had the 9.1 beta and this wifi calling issue occured as well as using search in my Contacts/Phone Book doesn't work. I downgraded to 9.0.1 (I think) and all worked fine. As soon as 9.1 came out and I upgraded my phone had the same issues again. It's maddening and I don't know what to do.

    By the way I'm on a 6S from AT&T.

Please post here if you find a solution.

    Thanks.

What I've experienced is the call connects but the person on the other side can't hear what I say and I can't hear what they say.  Ending the call and reconnecting "sometimes" corrects this.  Very strange.

I am experiencing the exact same issue - iPhone 6s plus, AT&T, Incoming call flashes on screen briefly and then disconnects and shows up as missed call. On Home network (150MBPS, wireless AC) as well as on my verizon Mfi hotspot.

NOTE: I have alerted  iOS Senior Adviser, Jennifer Reid, of this thread. I worked with her to find a solution, as I noted in my OP. I received no response, thus far.

We need to get this issue elevated.

I Heard back from Apple, requesting my phone # and AT&T version. Ticket is being submitted with Engineers.

i am with Apple support as I type this. They are recommending a full restore and then switch out the device if it still does not work. I noted that you have already tried out the full restore. Will keep you posted.

Im just going thru hoops with Apple Support. Meanwhile, saw this other thread - Re: AT&T Wifi calling instantly drops incoming calls on 6s

    Have you tried this?

I have not tried this. Let us know if anyone else has sucess with this:

(Quote from post referenced): 'The very last thing he tried finally worked: he contacted AT&T internal tech support who reset my account registration and OTA activation and that finally solved the issue.'

Was on with ATT. Had them reset as noted in referenced thread. This did work however I was told I needed a value package to enable WiFi calling. I still have an original unlimited data plan.

ok. Finally. After their re-registered and submitted OTA activation again while my phone was off, this worked. Please note Re-registration and OTA activation seems to be different from a "re-broadcast" of signal which was done yesterday but did not help.

As far as the value package requirement, its strange, I think the rep might be confused with Voice over LTE (or HD voice) which uses your AT&T Data network to make voice calls. To enable Wifi calling it does not make sense for them to require you to have value data package as it is simply using your own wifi network to make calls and has nothing to do with your AT&t data.

    Anyways good luck.
