Q: Mainstage Disable Global Feedback Protection in v3.2.x will not work

Since v3.2, I've noticed that FbDetect has been on and I cannot turn it off via the Preferences (Global Disable Feedback Protection).  The only way I've been able to fix this problem is to restore a previous version of Maintstage (v3.1). Anyone else having this problem?

Mac Book Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

I've seemed to fix the problem by deleting user preferences per the link below.

Did Not Solve my problem.  Feedback detect will not disable no matter what I try.  Reinstall app, build new workspace/patch, delete preferences.  I have v3.2.1 and El Captitan

For me it is the same, just frustrating. Try to find older version and install it.

Thanks for the reply. Started to think I was the only one. Through a series of unfortunate events (restored previous version from backup, lost backup drive, auto update turned on.. Ugh..) I only have v3.2.2. This totally *****.  I gig with Mainstage and my CPU % is over 200% just because of FBDect running. Totally limits the plugins that I can use. Going to an earlier version is the only fix.

I just installed 3.0.3 (before it was 3.2.2) and it runs smooth as ****. CPU 10%, with larger patches on 40%. Buffer at 128 samples. I was ******* frustrated, hope it will survive the gig I have on Saturday. If you have a solo musician and relaying 100% on computer and mainstage, you can't just allow **** like that. I was just too dumb to update the mainstage last night.

Yep before my unfortunate event. i had v3.1, everything ran great. no problems. CPU about 25-35%. I've had no choice but to gig with v3.2.x and my CPU level crazy high. I'm nervous ever gig that something will happen. So far my laptop has been able to keep up with the demand and I continue to use Mainstage. Crossing my fingers for a bug fix. (no luck with v3.2.2). But the v3.2 release has killed my confidence with this product.

I'm working in MainStage 3.2. When I load a concert that was saved in MainStage 3.0, the FbDetect is off. As soon as I save it in MainStage 3.2.2 and re-open it, the FbDetect is on - that is it's showing CPU usage. The original will see the CPU at 60% (with FbDetect not showing up as a process), the new saved version is at 190% (FbDetect now shows most of the CPU process). Same patch, nothing has changed.

I've deleted preferences, reloaded MainStage, nothing helps. Any older concert is fine until I save it in MainStage 3.2.

Yes, for me the problem is exactly the same (on 3.2.2). If I open older project, then everything works as supposed, but when saving, then boom, fbdetect eats my CPU.

Until it is fixed, I use older Mainstage 3.0.3. Last night had concert and everything worked as supposed to.

It's also new projects.  I've deleted Mainstage (via App Cleaner to get rid of everything) run the DELTE preferences command in terminal (just in case), rebooted my computer, downloaded Mainstage again, create a NEW project/concert, rebuilt all of my patches, channels from scratch (that sucked), and still had FBDect appear. So that doesn't work either.  I submitted a bug report via app feedback. Hopefully it will get noticed and fixed.

Yes, it is also new projects.

The bigger problem is that any project saved in 3.2.2 won't open in 3.0 or 3.1. They've changed the whole save structure so the newer projects won't open in older MainStage. The band that I had the major problem with isn't playing for a while (hopefully it will be fixed before we play again), and the next band I'll have to change the old version of the concert setup in version 3.1 so I don't get the FbDetect CPU action going on. The first band I'll just have to make 3.2.2 work if it's not fixed before we play again because I don't have an older version of that concert.

    Please fix this Apple.

Yes you can't open newer projects in older mainstage, but I was able to copy & paste patches from 3.2.2 to 3.0.3. Had to open 3.0.3 and 3.2.2 at the same time, I have both versions installed at the same time.
