I want to shorten or lengthen all the clips that are stacked ontop of each other at the same time using the mouse to ripple edit. So dragging them back or forward at the end or beginning or end of the clip to make them all longer or shorter all at the same time? Has anyone got the know how to do this?
Not as far as I know.
For trimming the END of the clips simultaneously, you can use the keyboard, though. Press Ctrl-D and type "-" or "+" and the change in duration.
If they all start at the same time, you may type option-G, press enter, then trim, then Command-Shift-G.

Oct 28, 2015 3:51 PM in response to Luis Sequeira1by conorstrachan,Hey I see so you group them into a compound clip change the length and then unbreak the compound clip. That is a work around thanks.
Allthou doing a ripple edit over multiple clips at once by dragging and then maybe holding down a key on the keyboard whilst all is selected and dragging at the end of the clip should be written into the program. I literally hit a brick wall when I couldn't do it and really slowed my editing down.
Apple please put this feature in.

The right way to tell Apple about it is to use the feedback from the application itself. This a user forum.
Final Cut Pro->Provide Final Cut Pro Feedback...
Describe your feature request in a clear and precise way. Apple does listen to feedback, even though you usually won't get a response.

Oct 29, 2015 3:39 PM in response to conorstrachanby fox_m,With NO clips selected, move the playhead to where you want to make your trim edit. You should see a circle on the playhead in the top clip (showing the "current" clip). For each clip (sequentially) type option-] to trim the back end of the clip (option-[ for the front end.)
The magnetic timeline will take care of the "ripple" when you get there.
