Q: Apple Music stopped working on my Mac

Since this morning Apple Music stopped working on my Mac (iTunes 12.3.1.23). I tried to play some music for my iCloud Music Library and they won't play, saying that "You must be connected to the Internet in order to play Apple Music songs.", which is crazy because I am connected.

 

I tried signing off Apple Music, iTunes Store, re-enablign iCloud Music Library, restarting OS X. Nothing seems to be working. It's working perfectly on my iPhone, I can play everything and even add albums and tracks to My Music and they will show up on iTunes, but they won't play.  Streaming doesn't work either. The "For You" section never loads any tracks (though it loads the UI and everything). Beats 1 works OK.

 

The crazy thing is that I can download the tracks for offline listening, they just won't stream or play back.

 

Any ideas?

    I am having the same issues with iTunes not playing on a iMac. This started last week. A song will only play for a few seconds then stop playing. Similar to a streaming issue but my internet connection is working just fine. I have logged in and out of my Apple account numerous times, restarted the IMac numerous time and reset the PRAM on the last startup. Nothing will work. Currently have Yosemite 10.10.5 installed. I have tried to download El Capitan hoping a system upgrade will resolve the issue but the download fails after a few minutes. Wondering if this is a recent Apple cloud issue as everything worked fine a week ago.

    I can't explain it but everything appears to be working again. Songs are loading and playing almost immediately on both my iMac and iPhone.


    Can only assume that whatever was happening on Apple's end has been addressed. Let's hope is lasts.

    I wouldn't celebrate too quickly...

     

    Happened to me again tonight, but earlier today i could play fine...

     

    I think the issue may be to to signing out/signing in. However if it plays and u stay signed in, then it should be ok i think. May not always solve the problem, but it something to do with it... Noting related to disabling/enabling icloud library, tried that too
