Q: Icloud for Windows does not work with Outlook 2016

I am running a pc with windows 10 and using iCloud for windows to interface with my outlook.

I upgraded to Outlook 2016 and had a problem so I ended up removing office completely and installing office 2016 from scratch.

When I try to associate my apple email account with outlook 2016 using iCloud for Windows it gives me an error that iCloud needs to be repaired.

I have done this several times and still get the same message, so I completely removed iCloud and reinstalled it directly from the Web. Same result.

Is there a fix for this or is this just a case of the iCloud product not yet upgraded to work with Outlook 2016?

Having same issue. Interestingly, I was running win7pro with outlook 2013  (office) and icloud for windows worked fine. Then upgraded to office 2016 and icloud still worked fine with outlook 2016. Two weeks later took the plunge and upgraded to win10pro with a fresh install, reloaded all apps and now outlook2016 wont work with icloud for windows. Yet before it did while I was still running Win7pro.

Has anyone information from Apple, when the problem is solved?

Slowly the thing is embarrassing ...

I also have the same problem and have entered numerous posts here. Going through all these posts I understand that the problem relates more to Windows 10, rather than to different Outlook editions. Anyway, I have the same problem running Office 2010 and it just cropped up when I upgraded to Windows 10 64-bit, from Windows 7 64-bit. I am bitterly disappointed that Apple hasn't blinked an eye, for a whole month now, following all this stream of complaints... Doesn't someone from Apple bother to read this entire stream of discussions and give us a solution, asap? Utterly disappointing reaction originating from the most valuable brand of the world!

    Same issue here.

What surprises me is that iCloud integration within Outlook 2016 (Windows 10, x64) perfectly worked until I updated to iCloud 5! (I installed Outlook 2016 from scratch and just activated iCloud add-in, as I did with Outlook 2013 without any problem) So there should be a quite simple way to get this integration to work Apple!

Not sure why I'm not having problems, but I'm currently running icloud 4.1 and Outlook 2016 on a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit desktop platform with no apparent issues; however, yesterday when I attempted to download/update icloud to the current version (v5?), I consistently got an error code 2343 so I gave up trying to update icloud.  Same scenario with my wife's laptop - i.e., icloud 4.1 and Outlook 2016 on a Windows 10 Home platform.  Works well; however, it likewise will not update icloud to 5.0 due to same 2343 error code.  Don't remember the verbiage with the error code but it said something about it being a possible icloud 'packaging' issue (probably meaning that the update was not packaged for an Outlook 2016 environment).

    FYI, re each computer:

    1) Desktop:  I upgraded from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit to Windows 10 and then upgraded Office 2013 to Office 365 (2016).  I suspect, but don't know for sure, that the icloud release was probably 4.1 in the Windows 7 environment as well,

    2) Laptop:  I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 and then upgraded Office 2013 to Office 365 (2016).

I've concluded that I'm probably lucky that everything is working based on all the issues others are having with icloud/Outlook 2016 incompatibility!  As such, I'll keep on using icloud 4.1 until I read a post that convinces me that Apple/Microsoft have fixed the issue!

I have the same problem. ICloud  Version 4.1 works fine with office 2016, but update to 5.0 fails with error code 2343.  I see many others are having this problem and I hope that Apple responds quickly to fix 5.0.

If you note Microsoft's recent announcement regarding outlook for iOS it might not just be Apple who have created the problem. And who knows what contractual arrangements Microsoft is able to impose on Apple, including there inability to say what is happening. Just speculating. Maybe if that or similar is the case Apple could simply say that is is due to matters beyond its control. That would still not look good but would at least say they have done what they could.

Well I would just like a response from CRAPPLE stating other than it not compatible with Outlook 2016. Tell us whether there will EVER be a fix, yes or no, so we can move on.  There about to lose my loyalty as far iPhone and iPad goes. I can move on to a 100% Microsoft platform.

Hi again. Well it seems like another classic example of an upgrade rendering things worst instead of better. Overall it's disgraceful and disappointing for both Apple and Microsoft to shrug an indifferent shoulder as a result of so many complaints on behalf of their users and clients. But I am not going to discard my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 for this minor (I believe) setback. I can't help it, though, but to stress that both companies seem to be also crippled by the same defficiency which struck the late genious Steve Jobs, called "reality distortion". Once again, iCloud app upgrades result in giving more emphasis on minute details such as photos sync and ignoring the most important and useful ones for the individual such as e-mail, contacts and callendars. A shame! Period!

I continue to check here daily on the status of iCLOUD and Outlook 2016 to be fixed.  Once again, I'm extremely disappointed.  I surely hope Apple is reading these comments.

Highly doubtful that they do... From what I hear and see, they're probably too busy with the rest of their more profitable ventures like the iPhone 6s sales progress, Apple TV and Apple music... Not to mention that their latest iOS update, the long awaited and intensely advertised iOS 9 came with a bunch of problems in data and voice connectivity

First all, to those of you whining, STOP. Quit crying. Microsoft and Apple are two different companies and youre lucky that they even collaborate to make this stuff works for you at all. Its a privledge that these companies release products to link the two. If it doesnt work right away, or for even a short period of time after a new product is released FIND ANOTHER SOLUTION than complaining. A couple solutions I can think of: go back to Outlook 2013 or go cry some more. Additionally, I am going to offer up how I had my working setup below.

Other than that, I came across this because I'm experiencing an issue similar to yours. First let me state that I have been using Office 2016 successfully with iCloud plugin for the last month or so. The reason why I am here is because I had to start using a new work computer and install this stuff over again. This time is doesn't work. I am going to explain HOW I had my working set up installed so that some of you, if you want to take the time, can remedy the problem and continue using it. I am just going to suck it up and wait for the update to make it work.

On a Dell M4800 win7pro64 I had office 2013 installed and functioning with outlook plugin. No issues, everything worked well for about 1.5yrs. I update icloud every couple months manually, (disabled autoupdates.) At the time of writing this, everything is up to date.

Before installing outlook 2016, I uninstalled Office 2013 using programs add remove menu, restarted the computer, then installed Office 2016. (iCloud is already installed and functioning.) Once I started outlook, everything populated just as it had in Office 2013, and my icloud settings are functioning. Ive been using this system for 2 months and have received an error approximately 10x that says Icloud has stopped working, do you want to report. I just keep moving forward, it still updates and the calendar still functions just fine.

It appears, that if you had an old working installation of 2013 with icloud plugin then uninstalled 2013 and installed 2016, you would still function 95%.

Dont go over complicating things. If you need explanation on anything that I did or how I had things installed, let me know. But this appears to be a work around for the moment. I dont know if this will work with your set up. But its worth a shot.

Hopefully, I helped some of you! Good luck!
