Oct 30, 2015 3:21 AM in response to Novice2011by dominic23,There is no easiest and safest way to install an OS X version without having a working backup.
Looking for an earlier version of OS X?
OS X Yosemite 10.10 is not available now unless one had it installed on the Mac prior to the release of OS X ELCapitan 10.11.
Section: Looking for an earlier version of OS X?
“If you previously downloaded Yosemite, Mavericks, or another earlier version of OS X, you can still download it from the Purchased tab of the Mac App Store. If you can't find it in the Purchased tab, check for hidden Mac App Store purchases.”

Oct 30, 2015 3:47 AM in response to Novice2011by killhippie, rather than making things harder and downgrading, why not try and fix what's wrong in El Capitan. Why do you think going aback to Yosemite will help?
