Oct 29, 2015 6:51 AM in response to suneel_raiby kb1951,★HelpfulAn iPad or iPhone does not have the folder systems that a computer uses. As you know, you can only transfer the files into an app that supports that type of file.

Oct 29, 2015 7:19 AM in response to suneel_raiby kb1951,That is to add a folder of files to the iTunes library. You can't add a folder to the device. The wording in my iTunes says 'add folder to library'.

Oct 29, 2015 9:56 PM in response to suneel_raiby suneel_rai,I Hope my query and doubt reaches yu rightly. Why there is an option in itunes for addFOLDER to library. Which folders can be added to library?

Oct 30, 2015 6:32 AM in response to suneel_raiby kb1951,From the iTunes help page, it just says that you can add items from your computer to the iTunes library either by selecting an individual file or a folder. The files would have to be music or video files, something compatible with iTunes. If a folder is selected, all the files in that folder will be added. As I said before, you can't transfer a folder to a device since IOS does not support a folder management system like a computer does. If you need files on your device, you need an app that will support that type of file. For example, I use Documents To Go to sync my MS Word and Excel files to my phone and ipad. Even though I have them in a folder on my computer, I can't get that folder on my phone.

Oct 30, 2015 7:30 AM in response to suneel_raiby Jolieteddie,You can't add a folder with miscellaneous files directly into the iPad....as noted above there is no file system like Windows on the iPad. BUT you can achieve what you want by using Dropbox, Good Reader, or an app like Documents. These allow you to set up a folder system and can open a variety of file formats.

Oct 30, 2015 11:40 AM in response to suneel_raiby MichelPM,In iTunes, Add Folder to Library simply means adding a folder to your iTunes library on your computer.
You can create many folders that contain content that you put in from whatever content you have already put into your iTunes.
The content you see in iTunes when you launch it is stored in a Library (actually a folder called iTunes Library).
Any new folders you create within iTunes get added to your iTunes Library folder.
That is what Add Folder to Library means. It is adding a folder to your iTunes Library folder, making that created folder part of iTunes and stored in the iTunes Library folder.
That is what this function does.
It has NOTHING to do with transferring data to an iDevice.
