Oct 30, 2015 7:12 AM in response to Chris CAby MoeCoffee,Chris, thanks so much for your attempt at helping me.
I did exactly what you suggested and unfortunately this did not solve the problem.
Any other thoughts.
I sure hate to loose over 500 songs.

I'm guessing the music files are still present in your iTunes Media folder, but the links in the iTunes database have gotten broken somehow. An easy fix to try is to drag the iTunes Media folder into an open iTunes window, which should cause the app to re-process the files and create proper links again.

Oct 30, 2015 1:47 PM in response to MoeCoffeeby Chris CA,Are the missing songs in iTunes still located in /Music/iTunesiTunes Media/Music/ in Artist/Album folders?
If so, File > Add to library… and select /Music/iTunesiTunes Media/Music/.
Lemme know what happens.

Sorry, I'm really confused. Perhaps I should be more computer literate but I'm not.
You kind of lost me with your last post.
Let me tell you what I do have.
My iphone 6 has all the music I have ever purchased including the ones missing on my iTunes library. Can't I simply sync my phone with my itunes library and fix this problem?
When you sync, doesn't the information transfer from the computer to the phone, which would then create the same problem on my phone that currently
exists on my computer?
Confused !!
