May 19, 2015 7:39 PM in response to WOOSTERdesignby Mykuhh,I have found an option in the top left hand corner of the black box called Photo Library. If you click the option it will allow you to access your library. I am still exploring but will keep you all updated with anything I find.

May 20, 2015 2:07 AM in response to WOOSTERdesignby GeeD,I have not used it myself but according to:
Designate a System Photo Library in Photos - Apple Support
iMovie can only access content in the Photos System library. The above link describes how to assign the system library.

Oct 30, 2015 9:08 PM in response to WOOSTERdesignby Dr.Wil,I would like to further point out that WOOSTERdesign's problem is one that everybody in the Apple universe shares. If you just want to make little iMovie videos from content you imported into photos, you have to perform a nonintuitive work-around to make this possible. Whoever is in charge of this department, please tell them that some people don't want to have to google every little thing to perform simple tasks.
