Nov 1, 2015 6:01 AM in response to Ralph Johns (UK)by ibsoburr,The messages app worked great when I got the MacbookAir (with Mavericks) across all phone formats. Upon upgrading to Yosemite I could no longer communicate with any phones other than iOS phones. I know the capability is there and it must just be a setting, I just can't seem to find it. If you could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

On the iPhone go to Settings > Messages
In here is the Text Forwarding setting.
It should be on and telling you how many devices it is forwarding the SMS messages to.
If you tap this line it will then show the names of the devices that are linked for Text/SMS Forwarding.
Is the Mac you are using showing ?
Is it selected to be ON ?
If it is and it is not working set Text Forwarding to Off.
Make sure the Mac version is ON and then Turn text Forwarding ON again.
This reset should cause the Mac to show a New Code Number which you need to enter ton the iPhone.
