Also, try booting into Safe Mode and see if you get the same results.

No, that was just a test to try to figure out what was causing it.
If it works ok in Safe Mode, that would imply some third-party software that runs at startup is causing the problem.
The only type of software that I would think would do anything with a website would be some type of Anti-virus/Web Security.
If you know of some suspects, you can try uninstalling them.
If not, you can run this program and post the results here.
It was written by one of the long-time members of the Community to present a list of what is installed on your Mac so we can see if we see anything. It doesn't do any analyzing or repairing, it just list the installed software and whether they are loaded and running.
