Q: My iPad wont turn on? but apple logo appears

Yesterday my ipad died, I placed it on charge and a few hours later i noticed it still hadnt turned on so i used another 3 different chords. The ipad has been charging for more than 24 hours and over night. Around every 10-20 seconds the apple logo appears as if it's about to turn on but then the screen goes back to the black screen and sometimes the charging symbol appears. I've tried to reboot it many times by holding down the lock and home button and the apple logo appears but nothing else happens. if i unplug the ipad it shows the symbol of it needing to be charged so i know that the chords are working. i've had my ipad for over a year and nothing like this has happened before. someone please help me? ta x

    I was having the same problem where my iPad was not getting past the apple logo before dying.  I tried the methods posted, mainly turning off the iPad before getting further in the startup process, and got to the spinning icon, but I think it was dying too fast to plug it back in at that point.  Nothing seemed to be working and it seemed to be a battery issue.  I then looked up how to charge an iPad faster and realized that I was using a iPhone jack (5 watt) instead of an iPad jack (12 watt).  I found my iPad jack and plugged it in, turned off the iPad when it started up like someone suggested, and now my iPad is working great!  I read that a speaker jack may also have higher wattage than an iPhone jack, but that a computer jack is even weaker than an iPhone jack.

    Quick edit--the iPhone jack is 5 volts and the iPad jack is 12 volts.

    I Followed these instructions up to repeating 3and 4, holding down the start and home buttons. I did this, as instructed and eventually after about 30-40 times, instead of the Apple appearing it had the power lead telling to plug into iTunes. As soon as it did this, I kept the home button ONLY pressed, connected to iTunes where it immediate said it needed to restore. clicked on and released home button........sorted! Within half an hour, after being without my iPad for over a year thinking it was a goner, it was as new, especially as I just set it back to factory. Great advice from many of the members. Mine was sorted by combining three members advice. Thank you all!!!!

    Before restoring in recovery mode, it’s suggested to try the following methods which don’t need a restore, especially under the situation that you don’t have a most recent backup:

    1. Force the iPad to restart;
    2. Use Volume Up, Home and Wake/Sleep button combination; (Video Tutorial)
    3. Fix the iOS to normal mode using a third-party tool.

    IT WORKED! Thank you so much for posting this! I had just gotten the screen fixed and was devestated when the screen went blank and wouldn't load past the apple logo.
