Q: Split view not working (with video)

I have installed El Capitan on my Macbook Air

I have tried the suggestions in other posts, and I have tried other suggestions I have seen, including many restarts.  I still cannot get Split View to work on my MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013).

Here is a video of what I have tried: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKghfZV6Bxo

Any ideas from anyone else?

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

When you click hold on the green dot and drag the window to the side, let go (un-click) while the screen is still moved over to the side. That works for me.

IT might be hard to tell from the video when I am releasing the click, but I have tried this multiple times and it still does not work.

I didn't see that in the video. It looks like you always have the mouse button down and are moving the window in a circular motion while it is off the edge of the screen.

What I see is that Mission Control does not appear to be working, more than split view not working.

Your screen recording indicates several times control-up arrow being pressed but Mission Control does not show. And when you click the green button and hold Mission control should present you with a similar display on the right side but doesn't.

Does Mission Control even work at all? With the keyboard button, or trackpad gestures?

No, it isn't working. I have tried assigning a different key combo, I also tried to trigger it with hot corners. Once that didn't work, I tried to killall Dock, but that didn't get it going either. Thoughts on that?

Try this test. Create a new user account, and see if it works for that user. This will tell you if the problem is in the OS or your own account. I am betting the latter.
