Q: there is no "Create a Windows 8 or later install disk" on my MacbookPro 8,2 (early 2011)

I want to install Windows 8 on my Macbook Pro early 2011 (15 inch) which is MacBookPro 8,2

I have ISO file but there is no option that I can install it without USB and CD/DVD.

when i checked the Info.plist file of BootCamp... I found that my model is not written there, it says 'MacBookPro 8,3'

so I tried to change the number 3 to be 2

but I cannot save it because the file is lock and the permission is accessible only by 'SYSTEM'

so I, admin, cannot change the permission either.

I tried using Terminal to chmod it, but it doesn't work.

Can you tell me how should I fix this without writing the ISO file onto the DVD disk.

Burn your ISO to a physical DVD - Disk Utility (Yosemite): Burn a disk image to a CD or DVD

and install Windows - How to install Windows using Boot Camp - Apple Support.

Modifying Bootcamp info.plist causes further problems later. I suggest you use the physical DVD (it should be either 64-bit or 32-bit, but not both).

I accidentally turn on FileVault, therefore I cannot use boot camp yet.

Is there any problem after turn FileVault on ? Should I turn off later before installing windows via boot camp ?

sorry, it might sound like a stupid question, but I really have no idea what FileVault is for and what it might affect to.

FileVault is described here - Use FileVault to encrypt the startup disk on your Mac - Apple Support .

Bootcamp Assistant will carve out an unencrypted partition, as necessary.

Now I have a new problem

I am trying to install Windows 8 !
but there is no drivers for it to be downloaded.
Only drivers for Windows 7 and later version is shown for me to download onto EXT HDD.
and when the installation process comes, it says it can't find the drivers for my windows 8.

How can I have windows 8 drivers for Macbook Pro early 2011 15 inches

In this screen below, I partitioned the hdd already but haven't installed the windows completely yet since I don't have the drivers for it.

The EXT HDD will either download W7 or W8.1 drivers. You can use W7 drivers on W8. There is no official support for W8, but for W8.1. In most cases W7 and W8.1 drivers are the same.

However, I cannot install Windows. When the windows installer have started, I cannot format the 'bootcamp-drive' and get an error that says: "Windows cannot be installed on en GTP formatted drive. Format using MBR" Why is that?

This causes more problems later and it has no potential benefit except in cases where users have broken Optical drives and the Mac can support USB boot. For all other Macs, this leads to black screens.

If you use EFI boot on a preUEFI Mac, BCA needs to a support a legacy BIOS installation which requires a MBR. It creates one, but the conflict causes this error. If you remove the MBR and force an EFI installation, GPU, Audio do not work properly.

Why not follow the supported method and install Windows as mentioned in How to install Windows using Boot Camp - Apple Support and https://help.apple.com/bootcamp/assistant/6.0/ ?

Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support supports both W7 and W8/W8.1.

For example, from Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5640
