Q: Stuck in Recovery/DFU mode. iTunes doesn't recognize.

I got an iPod Touch 5th gen back in January. It's worked mostly fine until three days ago, when a sync didn't finish correctly and wiped all my music. I attempted to add some back, but the old (lost) music was taking up space. It kept wanting me to update my iPod software, so I was allowing it, but I recieved an error (4005, maybe? Something with those numbers). I tried to use recovery mode and ended in a recovery loop, where it kept asking me to recover, then choose a language, etc, and I could never access my old backup. One of the solutions on the Apple site was to put it in DFU mode, which didn't work. Now it just loops on the recovery mode screen, and even when shut off or put in DFU mode, the recovery mode screen with the iTunes symbol and plug stays on the iPod. This happened before with my first 5th gen purchase within a few days, and I had to return the previous iPod to Best Buy. But I've had this one for several months now, so I doubt that is an option.

Computer recognizes iPod in "Devices and Printers" view, but not on my "Computers" window.

I have Windows 8.

I have tried:

Updating iPod software

Updating iTunes

Recovery Mode

DFU Mode

Updating Apple Mobile Device USB Driver

iPod touch, iOS 8.2
