Nov 3, 2015 12:20 PM in response to Templeton Peckby Brian-ds,It is not a case of cost, but since you started the response, it is a case of TRUST of iCloud. I would backup to iCloud before I leave home, then by the time I got to the store, not sure how many people will have had access to this public cloud. I will prefer to use a Private cloud, with encryption and strong password authentication that I can really trust. Just my paranoia.
I will continue to investigate trusted 3rd party packages and other apple solutions, and Since I spent a lot more than a couple of dollars to have this solution, I am not afraid of costs.

Nov 3, 2015 12:48 PM in response to Brian-dsby Demo,★HelpfulEven if you can backup to your personal cloud, you will not be able to restore the backup from anywhere but iCloud or iTunes. That is the way Apple designed it to work. All iCloud backups are encrypted.
