Q: AppleTV does not turn off TV

I have a Samsung TV which supports HDMI-CEC (entitled Anynet+ by Samsung). When I put the AppleTV to sleep, the TV says "Disconnecting Anynet+ Devices" and proceeds to change to a different input. It does not, however turn off (as I would expect).

When the AppleTV is woken up, it does turn the TV on and switch to the correct input, which is exactly how I would expect it to work.

Has anyone found a workaround for this behavior either in settings for the AppleTV or Samsung TV?

Apple TV, tvOS, AppleTV 4

Strangely, after a time the AppleTV must shut down completely. When that happened, the TV was shut off, too. So, it appears this is just when "sleeping" the AppleTV.

I'm getting very flaky results in this area:

Will turn on my Panny if the ATV has sat off/sleep for a few hours. Will not turn it on if the ATV has not slept or a couple of hours after it has slept.

Sleep set to 15 minutes, shows 15 minutes in Settings, still takes an hour to sleep.

Does not turn off my tv under any scenarios.

Tonight we actually switched inputs to our mini as we got sick and tired of the plethora of issues we're having with the ATV. One time it works great, the next, one of a myriad of problems sets in. At least with mine ATV and install, this is a product that needed more time before release.
