Hello everyone,
This has been bugging me for ages but I'm trying to sort it out once and for all.
The volume coming out of my Macbook is about 6 dB higher than all other outputs. For example, all mac applications (iTunes, Safari, etc) experience this boost in volume. I can measure this with the software I got to run my external audio interface.
However, the output of my music programs (ProTools and Ableton Live) are metering normal (not boosted like my computer volume).
I have tried adjusting the OS X output within Audio MIDI Settings but nothing I try changes the overall volume.
All firmwares for everything involved is updated - I am at a loss of what to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much !!!
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
