Q: My Apple TV screen won't get past the Select Your Country or Region screen

I know that the remote works, based on that I was able to restart my Apple TV from pressing the menu and home button down at the same time until the light flickered on the device, but when I try to swipe down on the Siri Remote to select country or region, it doesn't work. I think it skips/skipped the Siri Remote pairing.

I have the same problem. Apple support told me on the phone that I have to bring it in to an Apple Store to get it reset. Apparently there is supposed to be a screen before the country selection screen where it pairs with the remote, but that screen never appeared. They also said I could reset it if I had one of the older aluminum Apple TV remotes, but I don't have one so I have to go to the store today.

In case someone is having the same problem, I found the solution. You have 2 options:

1- If you have an old Apple TV remote, you can use it to get to the main menu by following the steps.. Then Proceed with a RESTORE from the settings (In System). This will download some files and restore the Apple TV to Factory reset. It took me about 10 mins. I was then able to use the original remote !

2- If you don't have another remote from an old Apple TV, bring it to an Apple store and they will restore it to factory setting for you.

    Good luck
