Q: iPads/iphones How can my kids access age appropriate You Tube (minecraft, baking, toys etc) videos with enabled age restrictions using family sharing.  Help needed by a VERY unpopular Mum!!

I understand that by choosing to use the age restrictions on our devices to keep our kids safe and viewing appropriate material, that I have therefore restricted them from You Tube as it is listed as age approriate for 17+.

My dilemma is how that they can enjoy both safely??  My kids adore the mine crafting videos, baking, toy reviews.  There are LOTS of age appropriate material that they can no longer enjoy.

Help !!

If you haven't gotten an answer yet, since I just saw this I thought I'd reply. The best way to set restrictions on a device is to use Settings - General - Restrictions, then create a password your kids don't know. From there you can turn off the ability to get apps from the App Store, and many other controls about what features can be used, etc. Also use the age appropriate restrictions and block any websites there that you don't want them to access. Family Sharing will keep them from downloading app without your ok, but the best way to do all that is to put restrictions directly on the iPad or iPhone.
