Aug 21, 2015 12:46 PM in response to Stephen Finlayby jaocbj,I have an iPhone 5 with the latest iOS update and I used to have the same issue. Try turning off your phone and when it starts up again go straight to the youtube app and airplay the song. Let the phone sleep by its own and airplay should still be playing. I believe turning off/on clears the cookies/caches in the phone because all my search results from the previous search were gone once it restarted. Hope it helps!

Oct 6, 2015 2:29 PM in response to jaocbjby Viktor Balaban, not really, in most cases it still SHUT's the STREAMING down when your Apple device is going to sleep/lock. I found the only way is to change it to sleep NEVER then everything works. But you will have another issue - your BATTERy will drain much more faster even if you change brightness to minimum level.
For your information guys, I have:
- ipad mini (1st generation)
-ipad 2
-ipad air
-iphone 5
-iphone 6
-iphone 6 plus
I have STREAM issue on all of my apple devices, All of the have the latest iOS and without any modifications.
Apple guys, you see how much we do invest? Can someone at least reply on our messages!!!!!!! This thread is already a few years old!
Thank you,

Nov 7, 2015 9:25 AM in response to Bilen2by Payton Garner,Problem solved on iPhone 6S 64 Gb
Turn of Live background for lock-screen.
THIS fixes the problem. I changed my wallpaper from the "live" one on iPhone 6s Plus and now sleeping the iPhone after starting AirPlay works.
What the ****, Apple? How can something this simple still be a bug??

Nov 11, 2015 4:32 PM in response to Payton Garnerby bill223,I am encountering this problem as well. When I'm connected via AirPlay to my Apple TV, music apps (Pandora, Spotify, and Songza all exhibit the issue) stop playing music when the screen is locked.
However, I connected via AirPlay to my stereo receiver directly (STR-DN1040) and it works just fine.
The lock screen might fix it (I am not going to try) but so does connecting to something other than Apple TV. This leads me to believe there is something else going on here.

Nov 12, 2015 6:46 AM in response to bill223by Payton Garner,Why wouldn't you try? It's simply changing the wallpaper on your lock screen to any "non-live" image. Takes like two seconds...

Nov 14, 2015 7:35 AM in response to Payton Garnerby rockshassa,The live background fixed it for me
Seriously, this was crazy annoying to troubleshoot. I encountered this bug on my 6S while trying to Airplay to an Apple TV from the YouTube app. Ironically, i only used my device for this because airplay did not work from youtube.com in the latest version of ElCap/Safari. How many more years until this feature become reliable??

Is there a technology that does well what it is supposed to do?

Jan 31, 2016 6:23 AM in response to la_grungeby shoota13,Same here this is ridiculous. Apple TV + any iDevice (including macbook pro) and the stupid stream stops on sleep. Irritating to no freaking end. 5 years later...
