Q: IOS 9 causing FaceTime problems

HI,

I have found that the new IOS 9 update has caused very bad issues to FaceTime so that you are unable to see the person you are speaking to just a black screen and lots of poor connection messages comI got up. Very annoying and know it's the IOS 9 software issue as we checked by updating different devices and finding they all acquire the issue when updated. When are Apple going to sort this  issue and how can I return my iPad to the old software so that I can use FaceTime again ?

very very very very very very annoying !

iPhone 4, iOS 9

Facetime audio is broken for me, too. Since the iOS 9 update. Apple tech support has nothing to offer.

I switched to Microsoft's Skype, which works fine. Oh irony of ironies…

Would someone from Apple just acknowledge the problem exists and say that a fix is on the way.  Surely the engineers have seen the problem on their own systems.  This is so TYPICAL of Apple!

    Apple........Hello.......Are you there?

My children and I use FaceTime  when I'm at work so I can see them,

as well as with interstate family.  What's the go?

My children keep asking when your going to fix it.

What  should I tell them Apple?

    Soon or never?

Regarding my 'no video at the called end' problem, I was looking at the 'Privacy' settings on my iPad and noticed that only Skype has requested use of the camera and also the microphone. Does this explain why Skype works OK with video and sound and FaceTime, which appears not to have requested use of the camera, etc. does not ?

Whatever is causing this issue since the IOS9 update, it wants fixing ASAP.

I believe there is a further IOS9 'Beta' under development, let's hope they get things back to what they were prior to the duff update with this forthcoming issue.

By the way, 'FaceTime' works OK on my MacMini set up.

Luckily we still have a couple of old school iPods in the house which FaceTime works on.

    Old software.  Hah....

IOS9 has definitely disabled the camera.  I have given up trouble shooting.

    I knew I shouldn't have upgraded software.

    You  live and learn.

The best option at the moment is to use Hangouts on your ipad. It's a disgrace to Apple, but once again you can count on Google to save the day...

It was Microsoft that saved the day for me (Skype).

Facetime Audio has been broken for me ever since the iOS 9 "upgrade."
