Nov 2, 2015 12:01 AM in response to Scott Cooleyby Wayne J,I Am having the same issue trying to play my music on my new AppleTV. Every time I try to play one of my songs in the music app from "my music" i am prompted for my iTunes password, not once but continually. Hopefully there is a bug fix coming for this very soon. Otherwise, I have no complaints and am loving my new ATV4.

Nov 3, 2015 8:34 PM in response to Scott Cooleyby morrispe,Do you have any restrictions (parental controls) enabled on the Apple TV? If yes try turning those off and test to see if you are still prompted for passwords to play existing content.

Nov 3, 2015 10:25 PM in response to morrispeby Wayne J,Morrispe,
I don't know about Scott, but I have no restrictions on my system. Any time I try to play a movie or any music from my already purchased library, I am prompted for my iTunes user id and password. It's not so bad with the movies having to put it in once every 90mins or so, but with the songs I own having to re-enter this constantly is for the birds. if I don't keep entering my info, the system gets stuck after the first song is over and I either have to re-enter my info or restart the Appletv. Thanks for the reply.

Nov 3, 2015 10:46 PM in response to morrispeby Scott Cooley,I had originally set up restrictions. The only way to fix it was a complete restore, and no restrictions. It wouldn't fix it just by turning them off. I spent almost two hours on the phone with Apple. They have a glitch in the software. Hopefully they get an update soon. I prefer to have restrictions set up but it just doesn't work correctly right now.

Nov 5, 2015 3:50 PM in response to Scott Cooleyby SWJB,HI my Apple TV 4the gen has the same problem. I have placed a call with apple support and it's being investigated but 7 days later no fix. I think it's a software issue but it could be iTunes, the TV or maybe iCloud who knows - the software is now so complex I am not sure anyone knows how it works.

Nov 9, 2015 5:20 AM in response to Wayne Jby John.j,I have restored to factory settings, signed in to home sharing, turned off all restrictions... Always prompted for Apple id for App Store, music and movies. I hope it's an easy software glitch to be fixed soon! It is frustrating that the one glitch on my new Apple TV is having to enter my password repeatedly with this stupid scroll and peck remote. I haven't seen a video of Jony pointing out the attention to every last detail with this release- this remote issue is an ordeal, it's fantastic for everything but typing.
