    Update to Aperture 3.6.

Does Aperture show in your Purchases History?  On the fourth tab "Purchases" of the AppStore?   Then you should be able to update by reinstalling.

Apple stopped selling Aperture from the AppStore, and now you can only update Apertureby reinstalling a previously purchased version.

If Aperture is showing in your Purchases history, move the incompatible Aperture.app version to the Trash, restart the AppStore, open the Purchases tab, and then press the Install button next to Aperture. If you still should see"Update" search for versions of Aperture that are still installed and remove them.  Disconnect any backup drives.  Then try again.

If all fails, and Apertur eis not visible in your Purchases history, you can open the Aperture Libraries in the new Photos.app.  See: How Photos handles content and metadata from iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support

But as Photos is very basic compared to Aperture, it would be preferable if you could update:   Updating to Aperture 3.6 After the Release of Photos

I don't have aperture 3.6 only aperture  3.0 it was a cd not an app store purchase how do I go back to yosemite. I can't have this I am devastated. You need to fix this or let people know in advance this is a problem. This is just awful. I have spent years working on this .

You are not talking to Apple here, schneebz. This is a user-to-user forum, and we are users like you.

I am glad that Apple Support found a way for you to update to Aperture 3.6.

Screen Shot 2015-11-06 at 6.11.18 AM.pngYou need to update thru the app store .Click purchases, then check to see if your aperture is there and if so click update. My mistake was going to the aperture icon directly and trying to update from there.Hope this helps.
