Q: Bottom half of screen flickers black
Yesterday, while browsing on Safari, the bottom half of the screen on my Macbook (2009 - OSX 10.6.8) went black and the upper half flickered. I was able to restart the computer only for this to happen again. I shut down the computer for the night and all seems normal today. However, in order to try to avoid this problem again, I'm posting on here to see if anyone can help.
Processor 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 2GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook6,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.26 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
Not sure if this helps, but I have run EtreCheck and the first entry that springs up is:
The following internal tasks failed to complete:
/usr/sbin/system_profiler -xml SPLogsDataType
The next is:
[loaded] com.apple.cvmsCompAgent_i386.plist - Invalid signature!
[loaded] com.apple.cvmsCompAgent_ppc.plist - Invalid signature!
[loaded] com.apple.cvmsCompAgent_x86_64.plist - Invalid signature!
[loaded] com.apple.servernotifyd.plist - Invalid signature!
Has anyone any bright ideas about what caused the black screen and what I can do to avoid this happening again?
Many thanks in advance.
