    Provide more details please.  For example:

    1.  Who is the email service provider?

    2.  Can you receive email?

    3.  Are you trying to send it using WiFi, cellular, or both?

    4.  What version of iOS are you using?

    Go to this, this should help you out if not you may have to contact the email provider to get there settings to set it up.

    Starting last night, I'm unable to send mail using verizon from my iphone6+, and also my iPad.  I can receive on both however.  I can send and receive from the macbook pro also.  When I use iPhone or iPad, it tells me either user name or password not valid.  I've deleted the account on both the iPad and iPhone too many times to count.  I also verified settings with verizon.  iPhone 6+ shows iOS 9.1 and software up to date. iPad shows iOS 9.1, and macbook pro running

    OSX El Capitan 10.11.1. It is frustrating, and I'm not as quick as I was when younger, but quite a bit of money invested in apple products.

    Hi

    I had the same problem

    Check your password is correct in both incoming and outgoing servers within mail/account

    I did this and was able to send emails again
