Nov 8, 2015 2:30 PM in response to Tatelby Sabeen Ditta,Hey everyone,
Apologies if I am asking a duplicate question, just want to be absolutely sure on this before I purchase.
I have the MacBook 13" 5,1, and I am aware I can get a maximum of: 8gb of 204 pin 1066mhz PC3-8500 RAM
I found a non-branded version online: 4GB DDR3 PC3-8500S DDR3-1066MHz 204pin SODIMM Laptop Memory RAM CL7 PC8500
And I think this is correct but the 8500S is throwing me off! Is that definitely the right card that will work? My laptop is so old I just don't want to risk breaking it!

Nov 9, 2015 7:16 AM in response to Csound1by Sabeen Ditta,Yes, does that make a difference? (If I could afford to shell out I'd just get a new macbook!)
I'm not concerned about the 'non branded' part, I just want to make sure that's the right model.

Nov 9, 2015 8:17 AM in response to Sabeen Dittaby Csound1,Buy the Ram from OWC (preferred choice) or Crucial (2nd best), no-one else. OWC test and guarantee that their parts will work correctly and are (in my opinion) the best. Crucial rely on other peoples testing but are generally reliable.
In either case you can trust their recommendations, and the spec you posted is correct.
