Q: itunes created new backup after update to IOS 9

so i updated my iphone 6+ to ios 9 at Sep,17 2015, 4:10 pm

after that, itunes created a new backup, another separated backup but with same stuffs inside.

the problem is that the new backup has the "encrypt iphone backup" checked and i dont even remember set it up

p.s. if i reload that "Sep, 17" backup i will lose some photos, notes and other stuffs. how can i save those stuff and move it into the "sep, 17" backup. By just send those pict to someone's iphone and save it ? i dont really know, please help

thanks alot

Photos that you still have on the phone can be transferred to your computer, check this article:

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer - Apple Support

Notes and some other data can also be saved to iCloud and will be synced back to the phone, as soon as you enable iCloud again in Settings/iCloud on the phone, after you restored from the unencrypted backup.

Thank you so much for the answer.

But how can i import the photos back to my device ( I'm a windows user so i dont kind of sync photos with itunes only just backup ) and what about apps, everything must be at sep,17 right ? what will happen with my saved games and chat histories. Any other possible info that i should be aware of, just wanted to grab all the backup i can, any way thank you so much

p.s. i updated using the Shift+Update and choose an ipsw file that i downloaded, can that be the reason that i have a new backup with a encrypted password attach to it ? any possible reasons ? i'm really confuse.

Sorry, burt there is no other way to get your photos, apps and other data back to the phone, than by syncing it using iTunes on your computer:

Sync your iPhone with iTunes using USB

Photos synced with iTunes will be optimized for the viewing on the phone, as a result you will use less space for photo data on the phone.

Sync photos from your computer to your iOS device using iTunes - Apple Support

All apps that used to be on the phone at the time of the backup have to be part of the iTunes app library before you start restoring from a backup.

Apps can be downloaded for free again, check this article:

Download your past purchases - Apple Support

The data inside the backup can't be extracted. If you have to use a backup from the time before the new backup got somehow encrypted, all data, settings and saved games or other 3rd party data, will be set back in time as well.

The content of a backup is described here:

How to back up your devices using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support

If you restore from a backup that has been encrypted at one point, you will still need the password for that backup to restore from that backup.

To encrypt a backup made by iTunes, you'll have to enable that feature at some point before your backup is created.

When you try to use a backup, you might see a message saying "The password you entered to unlock your backup was incorrect." This message means that the iTunes encryption option was turned on in the past by:

    • Yourself
    • Someone who set up your device or transferred your data to a new device
    • An installed profile (for business or education devices). If you're using an installed profile, contact your system administrator.

If you don't have your password:

    • If someone else set up your device, check with them for the password.
    • Try using an iCloud backup instead. If you don't have an iCloud backup, you can make one.
    • If it's still relevant, try using an older iTunes backup.
