There are only 2 slots in an MBP, I don't think they are numbered 1 to 4

Nov 10, 2015 7:29 AM in response to Csound1by jndupuis1,I know there are 2 slots. I wasn't sure if it mattered which slot to use if only using 1 stick of RAM. Thanks for clarifying.
Cheers!!

what do you think could happen if i use one slot only? I've read there isnt errors/performance issues.
The only performance issue (which arises if you do not have a matched pair of chips) is that the chips will not be used in their most efficient mode, it doesn't matter if you use one or two slots, but if the two slots have identical chips in them the memory access will be faster than if you use one slot, or two slots with different chips in them.
