Q: Boot Camp Assistant does not allow to download the Windows support software (drivers) - any ideas to fix this?

Hi,

I accidentally chose to do clean installation when I was upgrading to Windows 10 on my new iMac 5K Retina Display. I chose poorly, as a result I do not have Windows support software / Boot Camp drivers for Windows anymore. It turns out that my version of Boot Camp Assistant does not provide capabilities described in https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204923.

All I got is these two pages: one and the other. Installed iTunes for Windows but Apple Software Update app that was installed with it does offer any help.

Any ideas how to those drivers?

Thank you for a prompt reply! Unfortunately none of the ideas outlined in the thread seem straightforward enough or directly applicable to my case

I ended up using pseudo temporary disk partition that OS X left behind, it had Boot Camp 6.0 software and drivers set for Windows. Later on Apple Support representative confirmed that it was a way to go in my case.

Seems really weird though that there is no plain, simple and reliable way to get this software.

Thank you! This should do the trick. I was so focused on following instructions from the article, that I did not check the menu
