I've just bought a JetDrive Lite 130 for my 13" macbook air but it says that it is read only. I've tried restarting and ejecting + re inserting but no change. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Just had success with mine. I put it in at an angle, (tip to me as slot on right) and could hear the card tickling the sensor and put it in. Doing this 4/5 times made it read/write. I guess as long as I don't take it out it will stay this way. My guess there is a tolerance difference between the card and macbook.

I've seen elsewhere some have said formatting on a windows machine and putting a partition back means its erasable on the mac. Not sure if its something I can easily sort. If thats the case then its a shocking way to ship product.
I just received my jet drive and had the same problem - read only - this was the 2nd purchase as the first one i received I believed was faulty.as it was "read only ". Once I realised after receiving the 2nd Jetdrive and having the same issue that it wasn't really a fault with the card - I tried as you suggested and guess what - it started to work after about 10 times inserting and then removing the card !!! - Thank you thank you thank you :-) It is now working great and is totally writable.
How is it formatted/ Open Disk Utility and format it so it is Mac compatible.

Thanks Ogelthorpe, I tired it but i get the message "The card is write-protected. Please release the write protect switch."

I have exactly the same problem. Can not format the disk because "write protected".....any news / hints ?
It also helped me to look into the slot with a flashlight and to actually see the write protection sensor. That made it easier to feel how I pressed the card against it and trigger it afterwards.
