Nov 10, 2015 2:17 PM in response to Philly_Phanby gunsch66,Should I know that this private business whom several products I bought suddenly changes the function of these products?
Why do you take part in this thread? Because you are satisfied with these private business and the products have bought?
Did you get any answers from this private business to fix the problems since iOS 9?

You should buy an Android. I'm sure that they will do things your way.

Nov 10, 2015 2:28 PM in response to Philly_Phanby Serguei,People pay premium for Apple products because they believe that they are spending money to get more reliable phones. When suddenly a next upgrade make the data disappear and the company pretends that nothing happen, it makes one think in buying Android actually makes more sense.

You're absolutely right! Android phones have no bugs ever, work perfectly all the time (except for the over 300 viruses and trojans that that infect them) and their manufacturers snap to attention and say YES CUSTOMER, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT AND WE WILL FIX THE PROBLEM BY 5 PM TOMORROW!! But of course they never need to say that, because there are no bugs in Android phones.

Bravo, and thank you Lawrence Finch.

Nov 10, 2015 2:36 PM in response to Lawrence Finchby Serguei,Android phones are cheaper.
It make sense to pay for a higher quality product developed by the company which cares about quality. What is the point of paying more for a product that is as bad as the cheaper one? If the new version of OS deletes your data and the company does not even admit it and would not say "Sorry", why should one pay more?

Nov 10, 2015 2:38 PM in response to Sergueiby Lawrence Finch,I realize it's a long thread to read, but if you DO read it you will see that Apple has indicated that they know it is a problem and that they are working on a fix for it.

Nov 10, 2015 2:50 PM in response to Lawrence Finchby Serguei,Lawrence, what "indicated" means?
Could you please point me to a publicly available information from Apple where they admitted that the problem exists and informed when it is planned to be fixed?

Nov 10, 2015 2:53 PM in response to Sergueiby Lawrence Finch,As soon as you point me to the page of any other software developer where they admit that a problem exists.

Nov 10, 2015 2:59 PM in response to Lawrence Finchby Diddles1960,Hello fellow frustrated iPhone, iPad users.
I love apple products and love getting the updates with enhancements to my devises.
BUT when my privately owned data dissapears from my devices that I own and have paid big money for in Austrailia and we usually pay more for these products. Then I think we have the right to comment on these forums, to get answers because we are not getting them from Apple. I have made several calls and emails no answers for me yet??
I'm very worried that some people have lost important data that they may never be able to retrieve. That's probably why I have several devices not thinking that it would affect all my devices. They are my backup!
Apple do not have any right to deicide how we get our email and whether we use imap or pop or whatever. These mail servers are in the market and should be supported. Just like everyone has a different mail box at the front of their house but the mail still gets delivered in it regardless.

Nov 10, 2015 3:05 PM in response to Diddles1960by Lawrence Finch,OH, boy! Now the conspiracy theorists. Apple somehow decided that you didn't need your messages any more. The facts are easier that that:
- There is a bug in the iOS 9, 9.0.1, 9.0.2 and 9.1 mail app that does not save messages on the device except in temporary storage.
- This bug affects ALL email account types, not just POP, but it's more serious with POP because that's the only protocol that does sync to saved messages on the server.
- Apple has responded to reports of this bug and said they will fix it.
End of story.

Nov 10, 2015 3:08 PM in response to Lawrence Finchby Serguei,Lawrence, e.g. Oracle for Java: http://bugs.java.com/
You can search it by keyword and find bug description, if it fixed or not, which version it is fixed etc.

Nov 10, 2015 3:17 PM in response to Lawrence Finchby mariotheplumber,The only nice thing about all the email notifications generated by the bickering in this thread…
Is that the Mail App my IOS9 device is replacing all the content with a message that reads: “content not downloaded”
I've followed and contributed to this and the many other threads on the same issue and do not recall seeing any comment/response from Apple regarding the problem or that they are working on a fix. Therefore, perhaps you could be so kind as to share these admissions/indications with us. After all there are a couple of your fellow level contributors who still deny there is an issue and resort to insulting or goading anyone who dares to say there is.

Nov 10, 2015 3:30 PM in response to Lawrence Finchby carolinseattle,This is the first time I have seen this clear statement of the problem. I had presumed there was also a problem with imap based on my earlier experiments trying to get Mail to work when POP was not working for me. I also noticed a problem when someone sent me a Microsoft document that didn't even appear in the contents yet showed a paperclip attached to the email. The only reason I know what it was is because it showed up on my iMac (Yosemite). I forwarded that to my senior advisor. Not sure if this is also associated with the same bug or something else.
Now I just copy important email contents to Notes.... So far this is working for me.
