Nov 11, 2015 10:55 AM in response to Kirstinaylby OGELTHORPE,There is a possibility that you have RAM with incorrecrt specifications installed or a brand RAM that the Mac does not operate well with. Macs are very selective regarding RAM. It also could be a hardware issue with the RAM slots.
Since you have had others install RAM for you, I sense that opening up the MBP is not your forte. Your best option is to make an appointment at an APPLE store genius bar and have the technicians do the trouble shooting. They are trained to specifically on Macs.
Ciao.

See my FAQ*:
http://www.macmaps.com/badram.html and make sure your RAM is only designated for your Mac model and age of Mac model.
Some MacBook Pro call for "667 MHz PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM" in the specs, but getting that spec will not necessarily get the right RAM for you. Only identifying the age of the Mac (early, mid, late), and year, will you get the right RAM.
