Q: Is the finger print sensor secure?  The phone ask for my PIN constantly. I know on Windows computers with finger print scanners I am not asked for my password.

Will an update come out which fixes the iPhone?  I would like to know that my data is secure.

Thanks for your reply. Not many of the responses seem to understand my gripe.

I am ok with the first time pin but it asks every 48 hours and randomly depending on what feature I am accessing.

As far as a backup.  I would use my password if the fingerprint worked all the time except after a reboot.

Did you read the article I linked to? It explains Apple's approach to the matter. It is secure. Whether or not you chose to use it is entirely up to you.
