Q: Bad Battery?

So for those who don't know, but my Macbook Pro 3,1 on eBay for a very cheap price, came without battery or power adapter. I could not find my battery on apple's website so I found a website selling "Apple refurbished". I bought a refurbished Apple charger, and the light never came on and it never showed as charging. So I thought the charger was bad. They sent a replacement, same deal. All chargers I use will "not charge" but actually does charge it. The battery is pretty crummy, 2hr battery life. However I downloaded Battery Health and it shows :

Current Max: 4245

Original Max: 4800

Battery Health 88%

OS X Health status: Good

Under the power tab in the hardware viewer it does show the computer plugged into AC power, but the serial for the charger is all zeros, as well as all other info fields for the charger. My question, is this a logic board error, or could this be a Bad Battery? Im going to try to run the mac on just the power adapter and see if the light works then. Just want to know possibilities before I buy a new battery

EDIT: I do know this battery is weak, I didn't pay too much for it I know it is probably bad, but the main question is if the battery is causing this Charging issue or something else

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), null

Look at the bottom where it says 'AC Charger Information':

Note the differences on my display compared with yours.  Take the charger back to Apple, with your MBP, and ask them why the Serial Number, ID, Family  and Wattage are not being displayed?  I have 4 chargers and ALL of them show this information.

The battery has a bogus serial number.

    Ciao.
