Try restarting (or, if that doesn't help, force restarting) your iPhone:
- Restart: press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears; drag the slider to turn your iPhone off; when it has finished turning off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
- Force restart: press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for around 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Nov 17, 2015 10:25 AM in response to indiesharkby i phan,I'm having the same problem. Apple Pay failed at Panera Bread on Nov 15 and at Subway on Nov 16. Previous frequent use at both restaurants worked flawlessly, but now it seems that either the iPhone 6 is not reading my thumbprint (although the home button reads my thumbprint to turn the phone on) or the phone is not connecting to the payment terminal. I'm stumped!
