Q: microsoft office mission control compatibility

Does Microsoft Office for Mac 2016 play well with Apple's Spaces / Mission Control / Virtual Desktops?

I'm currently on Yosemite. I had no problem with Office 2011 across multiple Spaces. Just after upgrading to Office 2016 it seems Office doesn't play well with Spaces / Mission Control.

The problem I experience is that each Microsoft window shows up on every virtual desktop and that defeats the purpose of Space / Mission Control.

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Control+Click on the Excel icon on the dock, then go to options and select "All Desktops." Click on the open Excel window, and drag it to a different space (in whatever way you usually would move a window from one space to another, I use Shift+Command+Left or Shift+Command+Right (change in System Preferences --> Keyboard --> Shortcuts) while dragging the window I want to move while navigating to the target Space using that shortcut). Once you move the window to a different Space, go back to the dock and change the "Assign To" preference from "All Desktops" to "None." You should now be able to move the windows between spaces.

Unfortunately I was not able to get this to work in Word docs. Hope this helps.
