Yes it will work but be aware you WILL NOT receive the Siri Remote with the one you buy in Singapore. Unfortunately Apple does not include the Siri Remote in countries where it does not currently support Siri voice command and search.
Only consumers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, the UK and the U.S. will receive the Siri Remote.

Nov 12, 2015 6:25 AM in response to Gino_Cerulloby DANIELM81,Hi Gino
Thank you, I was not aware of that. Why has the Siri remote been taken away from Singapore? In that case, if I want to have a Siri remote Apple tv, would it not be best buying a UK one and bringing it back here? I would assume the UK Siri remote would work here?
Thanks again

Nov 12, 2015 6:42 AM in response to Gino_Cerulloby bigschwabbel,I have no idea where you got that information from, but it's definitely wrong. Apple is shipping the same remote to all countries. They are just not advertising it as Siri remote in countries where Siri isn't available yet. But one can work around that problem by setting the region in Apple TV to one of the supported countries.
For people who don't believe me, read this (last paragraph).

Nov 12, 2015 6:43 AM in response to DANIELM81by Gino_Cerullo,Daniel, it seems the information I gave you regarding the Siri Remote is out of date and was based on developer documentation released before the Apple TV 4th gen was made available for purchase.
This is from a page titled: Use Siri on your Apple TV (4th generation)
*Siri availability varies by country and language. Apple TV (4th generation) ships with the same remote everywhere. In countries and regions that support Siri, the remote is called Siri Remote. Elsewhere, it’s called Apple TV Remote. Siri works on either remote as long as your Apple TV (4th generation) is set up with a language and country that supports Siri.
In other words, if you purchase Apple TV 4th gen in Singapore you will receive the same Siri Remote that every other country receives but Apple calls it "Apple TV Remote." If you set up the Apple TV with Singapore as the country it is being used in it may not support Siri commands, at least not currently but probably will in a future update.
If you look at the Apple web site for Singapore it clearly shows that the Apple TV 4th gen ships with the Siri Remote but they do call it Apple TV Remote.

Nov 12, 2015 6:47 AM in response to bigschwabbelby Gino_Cerullo,You are correct! The info I had was old and based on early developer documentation and a web page posted by Apple which showed separate remotes based on country of availability which has since been updated.
I have posted that correction above. Thanks.

Nov 12, 2015 7:03 AM in response to Gino_Cerulloby DANIELM81,Hi Guys
Really appreciate the help. My current 3rd Gen ATV is set to UK region (using it in Singapore, also purchased here). Im from the UK and just wanted to get the new one for someone back home as an xmas gift, but of course do not want them to be short of any features.
So in a nutshell,
1. If I buy here for myself, just set the region to UK and Siri is good to go?
2. If I buy here for my UK friend, all is good to go when they set it up back home?
Thanks Again
