Excellent. Do you know if the DVD is a mixed 32-bit/64-bit DVD? BC Assistant will not work with mixed version DVD.

We can create a FAT partition manually, create a MBR and boot from the DVD and point it to this FAT partition . This requires manual steps before starting the installation and during installation.

You need to download and install a tool called GPT Fdisk (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/) and install it.

On your Mac model, Windows is installed using BIOS emulation on a disk which looks a Master Boot Record (MBR) disk to Windows. It has some limitations, but it does work. You can read more details at http://www.rodsbooks.com/gdisk/hybrid.html . The link provides the advantages and disadvantages of this hybrid approach.

1. Create a FAT partition using Disk Utility. Choose a size which is reasonable for Windows. I recommend 60-100GB.

2. Post the output of diskutil list.

After you create the FAT partition, post the output of diskutil list from OSX Terminal. Also, post the output of

sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

Enter your password when prompted. Your password will not be echoed back to you.

Rebuild MBR to match the new GPT information thus resetting the Hybrid MBR. Use defaults for other questions (like partition codes). The only values that need modifications are the Boot flags and step 10. Accept all other defaults that Gdisk offers. Please see the sample Q&A as an example. These steps can be repeated if you make a mistake before you get to Step 12, otherwise start from Step 1 for these steps. Step 6 has numbers which are typed with a space between the numbers. Please see the sample Q&A before you execute these steps.
