Q: Can my husband and I share contacts iOS 9.2 family sharing

WE're sharing calendars but wish to share contacts. Family sharing is turned on for my iCloud account and my husband is a family member. how do we share contacts. We're retired and dont really require separate contacts. We did this by using my account only previously but now I don't know how to make this happen.

This is interesting but confusing for my specific needs  in our house my husband uses a pc with exchange. iCloud is installed. He also has an iPhone. I am all Mac. We used to share one icloud account. Mine.

IOs 9.2 family sharing gets turned on. He has his iCloud account I have mine.  I am the organizer my husband is the family member. We share the calendar but don't share the contacts. We don't know how. We seem to update contacts separately and there is no way to make me the owner with my husband as the shared with. There is no family contact choice.

    thank you

You are correct. Family Sharing does not currently allow you to share contacts. Although Apple recommends that two people not share the same iCloud account, the only way to share Contacts would be to do so. That would mean that you would share the other things that you shared before, and you might also find that your "Recent Call Lists" would be co-mingled (which seems to be a problem for some people). But that is the only way you would be able to do that....

Thank you for  this. Good to know when to stop banging one's head against a wall. Appreciate your help.

[I'd like to add for the sake of the conversation that we are always adding common phone numbers and contacts necessary for us both - a restaurant, a doctor, a new phone for a grandchild.  One adds, the other doesn't have it.  Sharing should be a choice. We managed with one account, now we have two and our ability to share has been dropped.  We don't share one account any longer because of a feisty little message that says the mac addy of one user is in use else-where - as in a separate apple id / email.  So essentially Apple dropped this ability for us.]
