Q: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from the Mac App Store won't open

Hello.

I've purchased Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from the Mac App Store a few years ago and played it perfectly till today.

Suddenly when I click on the app icon to open and play, it only pops up once (in the dock) and nothing more happens!

I click it again and again and again - nothing happens: no error or any other message, no light below the icon on the dock - NOTHING!

Does anyone else have this problem too?

Does anyone know why is that and how to fix it?

Please help me!

Thanks.

MacBook, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), (White, Late 2009)

It's difficult to keep your job when something that you were the one responsible for getting correct has been so badly messed up.

I wasn't stating that I've used Macs since 1984 as a badge of honor, my point was that even though things have changed through the years, I have never had any of the issues that I assist folks with in the Apple Support Communities. It works.

You've obviously done nothing with your 3 extra years of membership in the Apple Support Communities, you're still a Level 1 with a whole 45 points from helping folks.

    I would speak to Apple about the password issue;

Account security issues almost always require you to speak directly to an Apple representative to securely establish your identity as the account holder. You can set it up so that Apple calls you, either immediately or at a time convenient to you.

    1. Go to http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/

    2. Choose Contact Support and click Contact Support

    3. Choose Other Apple ID Topics and choose the appropriate topic for your issue (Security questions or password)

    4. Choose, No Thanks, Continue

    5. Choose the best method for you for contacting Apple

Kevin, Nowhere in my response did I say you have to reset you Apple ID password. Mine is still the same after I did the steps I outlined. Reread the post when the flashes in your eyes settle down.

And you are not talking to Apple here. We are all end-users like you, here to help each other. Your ire accomplishes nothing. If you want to yell at Apple, here is your platform:

Thanks Allan, I needed to restart before it changed from "Open" to "Install" in App Store, otherwise it worked just as described, and in 48 minutes I'll find out if I'm back on track!
