Q: iOS stuck on slide to unlock. Will not slide.

iPhone and iPad both intermittently and randomly stuck on slide to unlock, frozen...

Happens every few days. iPad or iPhone will not respond. Try a few times. Still no response. Wait 1 or 2 minutes. Sometimes okay. Sometimes freezes on main home screen... Home screens will not slide left,or,right. Started happening with 9.0 but seems to happen more and more with iOS 9.1 update.

I am putting this into iCloud category because  there is no category for iOS  generic problems...

   {{ iOS 9.1 on iPad Air 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular, Verizon. }}

   {{ iOS 9.1 on iPhone 4s, 16GB Wi-Fi. No cellular. It's a virtual iPod for WalkMeter and Music while hiking... }}

iPad Air Wi-Fi, Cellular, iOS 9.1, My 3rd iPad. 1st, 3rd, and 5th Gen.

    By the way, I reboot every day, sometimes twice a day. That does clear up the problem, but it usually comes back (sluggish response, freezes or hangs) within a few hours or a day, at most.

    HI Eric,

    It happens on both iPad and iPhone. The whole device freezes, will not respond to any touch inputs for awhile and then comes back to life after awhile, like 30 to 90 seconds later. Happens several times a day. The whole touchscreen goes bonkers for awhile. Trying to type on the glass keyboard, sometimnes random letters will appear while typing.

    I doubt that a restore will help. This is a random, sporadic, and intermittent occurrence, not reproducible at will. Both the iPad and the iPhone seem to be affected, There are over 200 apps on the iPad and about 20 apps on the iPhone. The iPhone is used mainly as a Wi-Fi iPod. There is no Cellular enabled. The iPad has cellular (Verizon) but 98% of the time only used on Wi-Fi.

    Sometimes it feels more like an icloud or mail issue, or iOS memory manger garbage collection... There are several mail accounts on each device. PUSH is enabled for iCloud mail but the others are FETCH (hourly) ... but the problem does not seem time-related, it seems random.

    This touch screen  random lockup problem comes and goes. Sometimes the device will lock up for a minute or so. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Reboot, and the problem usually goes away for a few hours.

    ITs strange how sliders freeze and also keep sliding after you let go (i mean in tools with sliders such as phitoshop ps expres) and how the slide to unlock frezes, and the slide left blank search page also freezes.. Because iOS9 is not cool at all, so why it freezes i dont know, considering it has no coolnes to the os.

    they ruined my devices with iOs9

    i find the new iOS a pile of uncoolness

    full of bugs, and full of bothersome functionalitiy.

    I'm outta here with iOS it just isnt any good since ios 8 became iOS 9
