I solved my problem with this solution

    1. Plugged out your cable iphone from your computer.

    2. Hold power button and home button for 10 seconds. Apple logo will appear on your iphone/ipad screen. It will start as usual.

    3. If it does not work, do factory reset.

I had the same problem, but my phone was working perfectly and I was not locked out.

I just wanted to add some music to the phone, but when I plugged it into the computer I got the message to respond on the phone.  Only, nothing ever showed up to respond to.

I didn't want to restore yet, so instead I turned the phone off completely.  I opened iTunes on the computer.  Then plugged the cord into the still-off phone.  That did the trick.  After turning on, the phone gave me the "do you want to trust this computer" message.  (All of which seems silly because this phone and computer have been paired for years.)

Lawrence you are idiot if you think no one has ever hacked an Iphone or an Ipad. there are numerous ways around iphone and ipad lock codes. I am an apple developer and tester and have been long before you knew what apple was. So before you run your mouth about things you obviously know nothing about and give people in correct advice. Learn what you are doing first. With that being said its not user friendly nor was it ment to be. They made it difficult on purpose so your phone can not easily be hacked in to. But it can still be hacked. Oh and before you try to say again Lawrence try googling it first. But the best way around is to do a restore from a machine that device was previously synced to. Give it time to boot and it will not ask you for that info anymore

    Anybody managed to solve this?

I'm locked out of my iPhone 5s and getting the whole "To allow acesss please respond on your iPhone" thing. I do have my passcode, I just didn't remember it yesterday when I managed to lock myself out.

Went into recovery mode and restored my phone as outlined in If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support. - but despite all that I'm still locked out like before.

Even these forums are confusing. So are you saying that while installing Update in iTunes, ignore the prompt to allow access on this computer?

When this comes up on a computer that your iPhone is attached to (i.e. for charging), go to the phone and click the dialog "Trust Computer" (if avail.). For me this dialog appeared after entering my PIN to access the phone. You also have the choice to not trust computer (and thereby not link the phone and the computer, for instance if you're on a public wifi).
