Q: suggestions not displayed in messages

All of a sudden, Messages isn't displaying suggestions any longer on my iPhone 6. Any idea why this might be and how to fix? They used to be displayed.

It sounds like either the bar to show the Predictive Text is minimized or the function is turned off. If either is the case, this section of the following article will help you either show the Predictive Text bar or turn it back on:

 

Get help with the keyboard on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Hide and show the suggestions

You'll get three word or phrase options to use while you're writing a message. 

To hide the suggestions, swipe down.
 

To show the suggestions, swipe up.
 

Turn off predictive text 

To turn off predictive text tap   or press and hold   and tap Predictive.

You can also turn off predictive text in Settings > General > Keyboard > Predictive.
