I first noticed this when iMessages from my mom's iPad and iMessages from her iPhone were in separate messages threads on my phone. She uses my phone number as the contact, not my email address. Both messages show up as "Mom" and will show the same contact info when clicked on, yet they stay in separate threads.
My friend with an Android phone just got an iPad today and messaged me via my phone number and it did the same thing. Her thread showed up separately from her text messages, yet both are labeled "Friend" at the top.
Is there a way to make them merge into one thread? It is kind of annoying to have two different conversations going with the same person.
