text  not sharp and clear

    I think part of the problem is that a) text in the Mail app is really ridiculously small ... I mean, for heaven's sake, we don't all like to sit with our noses on the screen ...
    and also b) the text is on the small side on this forum (depending on which web browser you use etc.)
    The result is that the double quote symbol " can end up being only 2 or 3 pixels wide, so it's no wonder that it doesn't come out very clearly.

    ...also I think the text on this forum isn't truly black which makes it look very blurred!

    ahh yes that does also seem to be the case well spotted. I suppose we should be so delighted by the beauty of the website that we don't notice that we are unable to read the content I mean who cares about the actual content and suchlike ...

    actually most of the text appears to be black, Geneva 7.5 point ...
    interestingly if I activte the Magnifier app (yay I'm using Windoze) then the font smoothing gets turned off and everything is suddenly ultra-legible...!)
    Maybe tinkertool is the way ahead on the Mac, as advised above
