Q: "This account already exists" error when trying to re-add a mail account
I have had trouble receiving email on one of my accounts. I have deleted the account in System Preferences and have attempted to add it again. I now get an error "This account already exists." I cannot see it in the list of Internet Accounts and it has been removed from my Apple Mail. Any ideas what might be the cause, please?

Sorry, I solved my own problem. My email account was "linked" to my iCloud account. I deleted my iCloud account first. Then I could add my email account that I had deleted. I then aded back my iCloud account. Fingers crossed it all now works.
