OS X El Capitan: Revert to a previous OS X version
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

Nov 17, 2015 12:56 AM in response to horatius43by Eric Houghton,What he wants to do is reverse the Notes upgrade, not the El Capitan upgrade. I don't know how to do that, or if you can, but that's the problem he needs help with. Anyone know the answer?

Nov 17, 2015 9:00 AM in response to Eric Houghtonby Acm001,The new notes is part of el capitan and there is no way to revert back to the previous version once you select upgrade. When you open notes for the first time it gives you the option to upgrade or not. Once you select upgrade you can't go back.

Nov 17, 2015 11:40 AM in response to Acm001by Eric Houghton,So hypothetically, he could go back to 10.10 Yosemite, then upgrade to El Capitan again, but not upgrade Notes?

Nov 17, 2015 12:00 PM in response to Eric Houghtonby Acm001,Have not tried that with any of my macs. Not sure if once you upgrade to the new version you can still access the old version even if you go back to 10.10

Nov 17, 2015 12:07 PM in response to Acm001by Eric Houghton,It would probably depend on whether the iCloud notes, which I believe is also upgraded when you upgrade Notes on any devices, would still be able to work with the downgraded Yosemite notes and the 4s.
