Oct 28, 2015 8:07 AM in response to simos23by Jonathan Greenberg,Yes, I'm experiencing the same thing. I counted about 11 seconds that passed between the sound and the notification badge appearing in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This is a definite work flow disturbance that I hope will be addressed.

Oct 28, 2015 9:11 AM in response to Jonathan Greenbergby simos23,For my case it's about 5 seconds. By the way sometimes the banner appears late of course but without hearing any sound. I think apple should give the user the chance to modify these parameters.

Nov 17, 2015 5:52 PM in response to Jonathan Greenbergby pfinfante,I noticed that on my macbook, sometimes the mail alert/notification (upper right corner) is quick (couple seconds), and then sometimes it might take 10 seconds.

Nov 17, 2015 6:03 PM in response to simos23by Jonathan Greenberg,Since updating from 10.11.0 to 10.11.1, the lag has gone down from about 11 seconds to only about three seconds. Much better, of course, but there never was a delay at all before El Capitan. I'm wondering if it has to do with my Mac being pretty old - I have a Mac Pro (Early 2008). It's processor is 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, and it has 20 gigs of memory, but the computer itself is still old.

Nov 17, 2015 6:07 PM in response to Jonathan Greenbergby simos23,I have a new macbook pro, so I think it's a software programming issue, Apple will probably fix this really annoying delay hopefully in the next patch.
