On your iPhone, close the Watch app along with all other open apps (double-press on the Home button, swipe up on the previews).
Then try force restarting both devices (the iPhone first, followed immediately by the watch, whilst the iPhone is still restarting):
- iPhone: press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for around 10 seconds, until you see the logo.
- Watch: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the logo.
If that does not help, contact Apple Support or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch repaired / replaced under warranty. If you contact Apple Support, they may be able to offer you mail-in service:
